Speak out for better gun control

The time has come for the American public and their elected legislators to break out of their silence regarding gun control. The recent tragedy in Newtown, CT, has made it clear that our Constitutional right to own and bear arms, semi-automatic weapons in particular, is no longer worth the damage that the desperate and unbalanced wreak with them. Sure: guns don't kill people, people kill people. But guns make it a heck of a lot easier. I urge everyone to speak out for better gun control.

Look at Chicago or Washington DC -or- MEXICO & their tough gun laws?

How did the "Gun Free Zone" in Newtown , CT work?

Please understand you are having a knee-jerk emotional reaction to this horrific tragedy.

Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people including 19 children. What was done about this?

How many thousand people were killed in Afghanistan & Iraq?

How many kids die in swimming pools every year?

Get the facts! And please leave my constitutional rights alone.

Annual number of gun deaths in the UK currently stands at 41 compared to around 10,000 for the US. So I love the fact that guns are very tightly controlled here.

I think the problem the US faces is that it's harder to take something away from someone, when you've let them have it for so long. Even if it's the right thing to do.

Oh and anyone who rattles on about protecting their "constitutional right". Try not to forget that the "right to bare arms" was an amendment to the constitution, wasn't there to begin with and serves as a good reminder that it can and has been changed before.
