I just finished responding to A List Apart's Web Design Survey 2007 (their first in an annual series, they say), and I encourage you to do the same. If you don't read A List Apart, you should-- it's a fantastic resource on coding and publishing. From their site:

What are our titles, our skills, our educational backgrounds? Where and with whom do we work? What do we earn?
